Our garden is currently over flowing with lettuces! We bought 400 seedlings a month ago and planted them in the sunniest spots in the garden. We now have a salad everyday and the lettuces we harvest cost only R1.60 each! If we had bought them in the local shops we would be spending about R8 to R15 rand on a lettuce.We may never have bought 400 lettuces from the shops but it lets us share them with our neighbours, friends and family. We always sent our guests home with a packet full of lovely green lettuces.
They taste so good because we have grown them without pesticides. So, support your local nursery and buy some seedlings and make a saving!
