Lettuces everywhere!

Our garden is currently over flowing with lettuces! We bought 400 seedlings a month ago and planted them in the sunniest spots in the garden. We now have a salad everyday and the lettuces we harvest cost only R1.60 each! If we had bought them in the local shops we would be spending about R8 to R15 rand on a lettuce.

We may never have bought 400 lettuces from the shops but it lets us share them with our neighbours, friends and family. We always sent our guests home with a packet full of lovely green lettuces.

They taste so good because we have grown them without pesticides. So, support your local nursery and buy some seedlings and make a saving!

Humble Beginings

We are just your typical South African family that is feeling the crunch of these trying economic times. With fuel, food and living expenses on the rise we need to rally to find the best deals in the country. The other day I bought R500 worth of toilet paper and Liqui Fruit because I was able to find it on special. Apart from strange looks I got from car guards and fellow shoppers I saved over R250 on that one purchase. It was because I saw a chance advert that I was able to work the system, if I bought these items from a shop not 3km away I would have lost out.

As a community, country and as friends we need to work the system. Every week shops have specials to try and lure customers to their doors. If you know where to get the cheapest produce and food in your area you will be able to reap huge savings. You have the ability to reduce your monthly shopping bill and use that much needed extra cash somewhere else.

For us to work the system and start reaping the rewards we require a community effort. So, stop by and let us know the specials, cheapest prices and best value for money deals in your area. Help your fellow South Africans and take some control of the situation that we are in. This is not a time for complaining but for action. Let’s rally!
